The Commodore 64 was the follow up to the successful Vic20 (adored here at PnP towers) and was a great market leader in games and software along with the Spectrum and Amstrad in the UK.  Along with software sprites and a sound chip lovingly called SID it produced some outstanding games for the years it was around...
